My dear readers, events are unfolding rapidly. You may recall my 5 a.m. Story two months ago, When Verbosity is an Atrocity. I was poking fun at a regular New York Times column called The Ethicist, which dishes out rather turgid morality advice, answering questions from Times readers who don’t seem to have a clue.
I heard that The Times was thinking about turning its Ethicist column over to me, so I wrote a follow-up, All the Bad Advice you Need, to help make up their mind.
Great news! They have now assigned me to write my own ethics column for them!
My format remains unchanged. I use actual questions that have already appeared in the Times’ Ethicist column, but I get to offer my own more concise replies, for readers with a short attention span.
