(Molly, our new rescue, joined our family the same week 5 a.m. Stories began)
Dear Readers:
Why not give Dad a subscription to my stories for Father’s Day? It’s free, but he doesn’t need to know that!
Last week, I announced that I will be posting only one new story a week, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some unscheduled fun in your mailboxes.
My “5 a.m. Stories” are three months old, and I’ve posted 25 of them. It turns out, the robertbasler.substack.com folks supply their writers with incredibly detailed data, so I can easily see which ones attract the most readers. The results are a bit surprising.
I don’t plan to tailor my stories based on these data, because that would be pandering. I don’t see a single common thread in my top five if I did decide to pander, which I probably won’t, largely out of laziness.
Here, then, is a countdown of the five most popular stories, and live links to them.
Number 5: Please Pardon the Pun
Number 4: Pie in the Sky was the Icing on the Cake
Number 3: Where Life’s A Holiday
Number 2: Getting the Hell Out of Dodge
Number 1: Santa Fe, a Town With Cachet
