Can't believe I didn't read this one the first time around! A true delight, and a great start to your lives together. Hot chocolate before vodka and tonic sounds perfect. Bravo, Bob.
Terrific. It reminds me of finding our 4th-flr walkup at 114 West 81st St. in 1974. The rent? $275 a month! I had to hide the Daily News from Wendy because people were getting murdered "just steps" from where we lived. At first I was scared to go out to the Red Apple to buy groceries.

Great story! Sorry I missed it earlier…..Karen
Hot cocoa memories overflowing my heart. Cups of chocolate, times with the people I loved.
That was just lovely.

That's a lovely story about a lovely lady. How is it that you all were so charming?
It's how I was raised, Susie...
How is it possible that these things keep getting better and better? No pressure, Bob...
If you had to live in Albany, that's the way to have done it!
Heartwarming memories! Thanks for sharing. Mrs. Coggeshall sounded like a wonderful neighbor.
What a charming story! I admit I had to look up “absquatulated.”
Thank you, Jill. It's one of my favorite words - I learned it from a collection of letters from Kurt Vonnegut. Apparently he loved it, too...
Fabulous gilded life!🥂
I plead not gildy, Zoraida...
