Throwback Thursday is back again. Seems like it’s almost once a week, these days. It’s time for a rerun from the early days of my 5 a.m. Stories.
The question I get asked most often is, what is my favorite story from the 90 or so that I’ve posted since March 19, 2023.
Actually, the real most common question I get is, “How do you have the nerve to call yourself a writer? But the query about my favorite story is a close second.
It’s tough, because each story is different, and I like all of them or I wouldn’t have posted them. But I’m going to have to go with “School of Hard Knocks,” involving the Baroness, the former Shakespearean actress from the 1890s who was the first occupant of our house here in Indianapolis. She died right here, in 1934.
I will admit to being a research nerd, and tracking down historic facts to create this one was just an amazing rush, as one perfect detail after another fell neatly into place.
Also, I got to use word play, some awful jokes, a little bit of easy-to-spot fiction, and some pretty nifty world history. I hope you like it.
I do love that story
Amazing!
