Wow, it’s been a grand couple of days!
Lots of you read this week’s story, Nice Work, if you can Get It, and some have sent me resumes for the “tourist burglar” positions I wrote about, where you get to travel first class and steal stuff in other countries.
A few of you have even ordered the “5 a.m. Stories” hoodies I mentioned, and I’m already running out of some sizes. More on the way.
Regarding your resumes, I fear I needed to forward some of the more terrifying ones to Interpol. I do apologize for any resulting inconvenience or incarceration, and yes, you will still get the hoodie.
Meanwhile, in news which may or may not be related, Substack.com informed me on Monday that I now have my first subscribers in Nevada.
No, seriously, I do.
Finally, a word about next Monday’s brand-new 5 a.m. Story. It’s a sweet and heartwarming look back at special Basler Thanksgivings through the years, and it isn’t as bad as you would expect.
My brother used to say about his favorite buffet: “It’s not very good, but there’s plenty of it!”
“…isn’t as bad as you would expect.” Ok then, I’ll give it a look.
