(Daisy, tired of 2023, eviscerates a Christmas reindeer and awaits the new year)
Dear Readers, thanks for checking in. While I normally post a new 5 a.m. Story on Sundays, who am I kidding? Today is New Year’s Eve, and everybody has something better to do.
Plus, even if you do happen to be in a reading mood today, you have all those stories to digest about the top news events from 2023, or the most anticipated new movies of 2024, or the best new kitchen spatulas or whatever.
So. Since my behind-the-scenes readership numbers already tell me many of you were otherwise distracted in December, and since I wrote my heart out on three heartwarming Christmas-themed pieces, I’m going to rerun them now. You are not expected to reread them.
A week from today there will be a shiny, brand-new 5 a.m. Story. Maybe my very best one ever.
Okay, I don’t know why I said that. It will really just be more of the same drivel, but with 2024 written on it instead of 2023.
Here, then, are my three Christmas pieces, all of which will surely be Hallmark movies by a year from now:
Lastly, I just realized I can use my 5 a.m. Stories for thank-you notes. Sis, thanks for the bourbon balls. Cousin Anne, your cheddar jalapeño bread is the very best!
Have a cozy, happy holiday. I’ll see you next year, right where you are now. Don’t go anywhere…
Happy New Year
