My 5 a.m. Stories quietly passed another milestone yesterday. March 19, 2023, was the date I launched my Substack, and here I am, still going strong, two years later.
So, why didn’t I post this item on the exact anniversary?
I spent yesterday morning in the dentist’s office, having two teeth pulled. It wasn’t nearly as much fun as I thought it would be, and he wouldn’t even give me any of that Fentanyl that’s rolling in by the truckload from Canada, our soon-to-be 51st state.
To be honest, I’m really not looking forward to 5 a.m. Stories’ third anniversary, a year from now, when I suppose I’ll have to have three teeth pulled. These Substack rituals seem pretty draconian, not to mention painful!
As of today, I’ve posted more than 120 yarns, and still they keep on coming out of me. I won’t stop until they stop.
I owe a debt of gratitude to my editors, my readers and to fellow Substack writers who continue to recommend me to their own followers.
I am especially thankful for the readers who stayed with me when I added a pay wall, last May. They decided my work was worth $5 a month, especially since I’m giving the subscription money to charities, mostly in the areas of animal welfare and the environment.
So far, I’ve distributed more than $3,000 in subscription money, and I hope there’s more where that came from.
If you’re anywhere near the Home Office, in Indianapolis, stop by our penthouse suite and say hello. I’ll be the one with a lot of teeth missing.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, please consider doing it right now, using the red button below, as a second anniversary gift for me.
Remember, it’s been like pulling teeth to get where I am!
Sorry about your teeth. Now you'll match most of us in Kentucky.
Happy Anniversary, Robert!
Don't worry about the teeth. I'm sure they'll grow back.
