Feline Friday: Make a Beeline for the Feline...
Fostering kittens. So much fun, it should be illegal!
Welcome to the first-ever Feline Friday!
My meticulous market research has shown there is a distinct shortage of kitten photos online, so I’m staking a claim on that rich territory before somebody else gets there first.
I can’t imagine that anyone else has already thought of posting photos of adorable kittens, but I’m just being cautious.
Here’s the deal. When we lived in Santa Fe, my wife and I fostered kittens for the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. More than 150 of them passed through our home over a seven-year period.
For a number of logistical reasons, we weren't able to resume doing this when we moved to Indianapolis five years ago, but we really did miss fostering.
I even wrote a 5 a.m. Story about our fond memories of fostering in Santa Fe…

Well, we’re finally back in the game, and making up for lost time. Last week, we drove to Indy Humane and came home with Clementine and Saffron.
I should make clear, Indy Humane isn’t just like some kitten lending library. There are foster applications, references and stuff like that before they hand over any of their precious kittens for fostering.

These two young ladies have been so sweet and easy, we suspect Indy Humane rigged the game, purposely giving us the low-hanging fruit because they thought we needed an easy gig.
I must say, the person who adopts these girls into a forever home a couple of weeks from now is going to be very lucky, indeed!

Do it for these ginger kittens!

No dogs were harmed in the shooting of these photos.

It appears they approve of your books. Whatever is in the mug they might be questioning. Smart kittens.
Caption for the photo of the moggy by the bookshelf:
"Hey Bob, where do you keep your Vonnegut First Editions?"
(We have a black Burmese Clementine, by the way. Goes by "Clemmie" and has been with us since a few weeks old in 2011.)
