(Marty, left, and Bob, right)
In the past 14 months I’ve posted more than 70 of my 5 a.m. Stories, and I have collected detailed data about all of them. The most popular of them all was one I posted last May, called, Where Life’s a Holiday.
That story was about the Indianapolis neighborhood where I grew up, and more specifically about The Primrose Chronicles, a weekly podcast created by my childhood friend, Marty Young. I guess readers found it interesting that two guys who lived four houses apart on Primrose would both be milking the place for all the Americana we can pump out of it.
In a nifty bit of cross-promotion, Marty interviewed me for his Chronicles last May. Just two old friends exchanging memories, fond or otherwise.
Fast-forward to last week when Marty interviewed me again as we shared observations about our two respective media products. The timing of this interview seemed appropriate, since I was just a few days away from beginning to charge a modest subscription fee for my stories.
My readers are being pretty nice about the pay thing, especially since the stories didn’t suddenly get any better.
You can find Marty’s latest interview with me here, and as always, my 5 a.m. Stories reside here. I hope you enjoy them both. And, if you haven’t yet upgraded to a $5 per month paid subscription, just click this little red SUBSCRIBE NOW button, to get yours before they run out.
Okay, no, they don’t really run out. I was just kidding.
